Maestro Jamie Hafner is a well-known musical personality and is past Director of Bands at Brevard College, Director Emeritus of Education at the Brevard Music Center, and Director Emeritus of Bands at The University of Toledo.   Mr. Hafner served as president of the Mid-American Conference Band Directors Association and has degrees from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.  He has been an Honorary Fellow in Conducting at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Michigan.

As a tubist, Hafner has performed with the United States Military Band at West Point, the Savannah Symphony, the Toledo Symphony, the University of Toledo Faculty Brass Quintet and the Brevard Music Center Orchestra.  As a conductor, Professor Hafner has earned the praises of major composers for interpretation of their music.  In 2016 the Brevard Music Center gave him a Distinguished Service Award for 48 years of service.  Maestro Hafner currently serves as conductor of the Blue Ridge Symphonic Brass and the Brevard Community Band.

Mr. Hafner is also a member of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians and maintains a shop specializing in repair and restoration of wind instruments.
